Karnataka wants tech firms to look beyond Bengaluru—here's what's on offer
Karnataka has introduced a fresh IT-BT policy (2025-2030) to encourage tech companies to set up shop outside Bengaluru.
The state is offering some pretty solid perks—think ₹50,000 per employee for relocating, half your rent reimbursed (up to ₹2 crore), a 30% property tax break for three years, and no electricity duty for five years.
The goal? More jobs and startup action in cities like Mysuru and Mangaluru.
Extra rewards for innovation—and how to apply
If you're working on cool stuff like AI or blockchain, there's more: you can get 40% of your R&D expenses reimbursed (capped at ₹50 crore).
Startups also score a 25% discount on telecom bills (up to ₹12 lakh).
Applications are expected to open by early to mid-December 2025—but heads up, only the first 100 in each category make the cut, so moving fast could pay off.
