Kashmir's cold snap finally eases up

India

Good news for everyone in Kashmir—after days of biting cold, minimum temperatures have finally climbed above freezing in most places.
Thanks to recent snowfall and rain, nights have been cloudier, which helped push Srinagar's low up to 3°C—over 5 degrees warmer than usual for this time of year.

Some spots still chilly, but dry weather ahead

Tourist favorites like Gulmarg and Pahalgam are still feeling wintry at -4.2°C and -2.2°C.
Meanwhile, Qazigund (3.2°C), Kokernag (2.9°C), and Kupwara (2.0°C) are all seeing milder nights.
The weather department says things should stay mostly dry for now, so the region can expect these gentler conditions to stick around a bit longer.
