Kedarnath crash claims Maharashtra family, son survives

A helicopter carrying pilgrims crashed near Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, on Sunday, June 15, 2025, leaving all seven people on board dead. The Aryan Aviation chopper was heading back to Guptkashi when it went down in the Gauri Mai Khark forests. Challenging mountain terrain and sudden bad weather made flying tough for the pilot.

Among those who died were Shraddha Jaiswal (35) and her two-year-old daughter Kashi from Maharashtra, Rajkumar Jaiswal (41) from Maharashtra, Vikram Singh Rawat from Uttarakhand, Vinood Devi (66), Tushti Singh (19) from Uttar Pradesh, and the pilot, Captain Rajveer Singh Chauhan.

Safety review of flight operations has been started

Early reports point to dense fog and zero visibility as main reasons for the accident. In response, Uttarakhand has paused all helicopter services for two days and started a full safety review of flight operations in the area.
