Kerala: Fake bomb threat emails disrupt normalcy in Idukki
India
Idukki district in Kerala is on high alert after bomb threat emails claimed explosives were planted at the Mullaperiyar dam, Idukki dam, Muttom District Court, and the District Collectorate.
A special bomb squad led by P Manoj Kumar was sent to check all four spots, but so far nothing dangerous has been found.
Emails suspected to have originated from Tamil Nadu
Police chief K M Sabu Mathew said the emails are suspected to have originated in Tamil Nadu and were full of false stories.
This isn't the first time—similar fake threats hit the area earlier and again in January, even disrupting court work.
With these repeated scares, police are keeping extra security around key places while they try to track down who's behind it all.
