Kerala High Court grants divorce citing mental cruelty by wife
The Kerala High Court just granted a man a divorce, saying his wife's insistence on living away from his parents amounted to mental cruelty.
The couple had been apart for about 10 years (since June 2016), and the court felt there was no solid reason for the long separation.
This decision reversed an earlier family court ruling that had denied the divorce.
Wife refused to return to Dubai
After their 2015 wedding, the couple lived in Dubai with the husband's parents. In 2016, the wife moved back to Kerala for childbirth and later refused to return unless her husband set up a separate home.
She also stopped direct contact and blocked his number. The court reviewed evidence, including recorded calls, and sided with the husband, finding her demands unreasonable and granting him a divorce.
