Kerala's Vijayan criticized after Shuaib post amid ED CMRL-Exalogic probe
Kerala's leader of the opposition, Pinarayi Vijayan, is being criticized after Allan Shuaib, one of the accused in the Pantheerankavu UAPA case, posted a cryptic Facebook post: "You did not go there to have tea?"
The post comes amid fresh allegations from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Vijayan, linked to his daughter T Veena's company in the CMRL-Exalogic case.
Shuaib recalls Vijayan's 'to have tea'
Shuaib's remark points back to Vijayan's 2019 statement defending UAPA arrests of Shuaib and another activist on Maoist links.
Vijayan had said they weren't arrested "to have tea," which stirred controversy as both students spent a prolonged period in jail before getting bail.
social critic M N Karassery described Shuaib's post as "poetic justice," highlighting how old words can return with new meaning.
Accusations deemed politically motivated against Vijayan
The accusations are politically motivated and meant to damage his reputation.
