Lucknow police are sending undercover officers into busy markets and jewelry shops to help prevent theft and scams during the festive rush: think Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath.
Police Commissioner Tarun Gauba says it's all about keeping shoppers safe and making sure everyone can celebrate without worry.
Lucknow police increase patrols and checks
Expect more police patrols on major roads and in crowded spots.
Female officers will be out with Mission Shakti and Anti-Romeo teams to look out for women's safety.
There'll also be extra checks at commercial areas, religious places, and firecracker shops and storage facilities to make sure safety rules are followed.
