Ludhiana man stabs nephew, consumes poison

In Ludhiana, Punjab, a man named Jaswinder Singh, who had just come back from Canada, attacked his 11-year-old nephew at home on Friday night.
The incident happened right before the family was set to celebrate a new house.

Over 100 stitches needed for the boy

Police say Singh lured his nephew to his room and assaulted him with pliers and a sharp object, leaving the boy seriously injured and needing over 100 stitches.
Afterward, Singh tried to take his own life but survived and is now in stable condition at the hospital.
Investigators revealed jealousy over his brother Gagandeep's new house as the motive.
Police plan to arrest Singh once he's discharged.
