Maharashtra shocker: 90 dogs, with their legs tied, found dead

An appalling case of animal cruelty has been reported from Maharashtra, one which will give you the chills. At least 90 dead stray dogs were found from various spots of a forest on Girda-Savaldabara Road in Buldhana district, police said on Sunday. What's more shocking is that muzzles and legs of these poor dogs were tied with strings. A case has been registered.

Foul smell made life difficult for locals

Notably, the foul smell emanating from carcasses alerted the locals. "The cattle herders complained to us that bodies of many dogs were thrown in the forest area. The stench is not letting the people move around the area and it can also lead to the spread of disease, (sic)" a local youth told ANI. Subsequently, the villagers approached the police.

On the basis of the complaint of the forest guard, a case was registered under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and relevant sections of IPC against unidentified killers.
