Major fire at Thane godown complex claims 1 life

A serious fire broke out on Saturday evening at Prerna Complex in Bhiwandi, Thane district, quickly spreading through eight storage units filled with chemicals and cardboard. Sadly, one person lost their life as the flames moved fast—likely starting in a chemical storage area and fueled by flammable materials nearby.

Firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze and found a man's body inside one of the godowns. The victim hasn't been identified yet, and police have sent the body for postmortem while trying to figure out what caused the fire. Emergency teams are still on site, with private water tankers helping put out any remaining hotspots.
