Man arrested for vengeful assault on woman's family
A 24-year-old named Arjun has been arrested for a violent attack on a family in Delhi's Mangolpuri area during Holi.
The incident, which happened on March 14, was reportedly sparked by revenge after the victim's daughter married someone else.
Arjun and two friends attacked the family with bricks and stones, and one member—the father—was stabbed.
Case of attempted murder registered
The assault took place while the family was celebrating Holi outside their home.
After the attack, Arjun and his accomplices ran off, leaving the father seriously injured.
Police registered a case of attempted murder based on a complaint from a relative.
Arjun managed to avoid arrest for over three months but was finally caught on June 27 when he visited his mother.
He admitted to planning the attack out of anger over the marriage; police also mentioned he has past run-ins with the law.
His two accomplices are still missing.
