Man gives away smartwatch for samosas as payment fails

India

At Jabalpur Railway Station this week, a passenger's attempt to pay for samosas with UPI went sideways when the payment failed.
As his train was about to leave, he tried returning the snacks, but the vendor got aggressive—allegedly grabbing him and demanding payment.
Under pressure and not wanting to miss his train, the passenger handed over his smartwatch in exchange for two plates of samosas.

Vendor identified, detained

A bystander's video of the incident quickly spread online, raising big concerns about passenger safety at stations.
Railway officials confirmed that the vendor has been identified and detained by Railway Protection Force. A case is now registered against him, and authorities say his license will likely be canceled.
The Divisional Railway Manager assured strict steps are being taken to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.
