The accused, Ranchod Parmar, had been in a long-term relationship with Geetaben Vaniya until she grew close to Sanjay Thakor through her catering work.
According to police, Thakor admitted during questioning that he and Vaniya had plans to marry.
Police say Parmar was struggling emotionally after their breakup and had recently invited Vaniya and her daughter over before the incident occurred.
