Man loses ₹4 lakh after clicking on fake challan link
India
A Delhi man lost ₹4 lakh after clicking a WhatsApp link about a supposed traffic challan.
The link led him to download a shady app, which let scammers break into his Amazon e-wallet and credit card, change his login details, and make five purchases for e-gift cards sent to themselves.

This isn't an isolated case—another Delhi resident recently lost over ₹2.49 lakh after clicking on a similar fake challan link.
Police say these scams are spreading through SMS, WhatsApp, and official-looking PDFs.
Their advice: always check traffic fines only on the official Parivahan portal and never trust random links or apps asking for your info.
