    What's the story

In a bizarre incident, a marriage was called off on the wedding day in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district because the bride spent too much time on WhatsApp.

However, the bride's family has refuted these allegations and blamed the groom's family's demand for dowry for this.

A case of dowry has been registered by the girl's father.

    Here are more details.

    Dowry demand

Bride's family alleges groom's kin demanded Rs. 65 lakh dowry

On Wednesday, the bride and her family were waiting for the groom and his relatives in their Naugaon Sadat village of the district.

Upon calling the groom's family, the bride's family was told they are canceling the marriage because the girl spends too much time on WhatsApp.

But the bride's family said the real reason was a dowry demand of Rs. 65 lakh.
