Kolkata's metro had a rough Monday thanks to heavy rain, with trains halted between Mahatma Gandhi Road and Park Street.
Commuters found themselves stranded or stuck in slow-moving trains, leading many to leave crowded stations and hunt for other ways to get around.

Just two days earlier, a burst water pipe caused flooding between Jatin Das Park and Netaji Bhavan, forcing an hour-long metro shutdown as officials worked to protect the electrified tracks.
