Delhi: Auto driver killed after minor rams car into three-wheeler
An autorickshaw driver was killed and the three-wheeler severely damaged when a car being driven by a 17-year-old boy in Delhi rammed into it. The minor, who too was injured and admitted to a hospital, has been apprehended and booked for causing death due to negligence. The car has been seized. The boy's uncle, the car's owner, might also be booked, police said.
The accident happened at 6am this morning at the Tolstoy Marg-Kasturba Gandhi Marg intersection near Connaught Place. The teenager was driving his uncle's Maruti Ciaz at high speed, accompanied by three friends, and jumped the signal before ramming into the autorickshaw, TOI reported. Witnesses said the three-wheeler was flung several meters away. DCP Madhur Verma has confirmed the boy wasn't inebriated.
