Missing BJP leaders arrested for drug trafficking in West Bengal

Two BJP leaders from Dinhata, West Bengal—Krishna Barman and Ashutosh Ray—were reported missing after a court hearing, but have now been arrested for allegedly carrying 55gm of yaba tablets near the Bangladesh border.
Their families said police picked them up but initially denied it, leading to confusion and a missing person report before the arrests were confirmed.

Politics heat up as investigation continues

The arrests have stirred up political drama, with BJP leaders calling it a conspiracy against their party and pointing to similar past incidents.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) Dinhata Block president Deepak Bhattacharya brushed off these claims, saying it's an administrative issue.
The two were brought before an NDPS court on Wednesday, and the investigation is still underway.
