MT Jalveer's 20 Indian crew return home safely following attack
Good news, after their ship was attacked off an Oman port on June 11, all 20 Indian crew members from the merchant vessel MT Jalveer made it home safely.
The Indian Embassy in Muscat confirmed their return, and Ambassador Prashant Pise met the sailors before they left, wishing them well.
The crew thanked both Indian and Omani authorities for acting quickly to get them out of danger.
US Navy strikes hit Indian sailors
This was not an isolated incident. It is actually the third attack involving Indian sailors in just four days.
On June 10, a US Navy strike hit another ship, MT Settebello, resulting in three Indian crew deaths.
On June 8, another US strike disabled the MT Marivex (with 24 Indians on board), but thankfully everyone was evacuated safely that time too.
India said the US Navy's involvement and said the Indian mission in Muscat remains committed to helping Indians caught up in these crises.
