Mumbai: 87-hour low water pressure alert—here's what you need to know

India

Heads up, Mumbai! Starting today, several parts of the city will have low water pressure for just over four days (99 hours).
The BMC is undertaking major water pipeline diversion works to facilitate the Metro Line 7A project (executed by MMRDA), so areas in G North, K East, and H-East wards will feel the impact from December 22 until early December 26.

Which areas are hit and when?

If you live around Dharavi Loop Road or Jasmine Mill Road (G North), expect low pressure from 9am-5pm.
In the evenings (5pm-10pm), spots like Dharavi Main Road and Mahim Junction are affected.
Over in K East ward, Kabir Nagar and Airport area get hit from 2pm-5:30pm
Koldongri faces issues from 5pm-10pm.
Bandra-Kurla Complex and Motilal Nagar (H-East) will have trouble between 10pm-11:40pm each night through December 25.

What should you do?

BMC suggests stocking up on water ahead of time—and using it wisely while this work is underway.
They're also recommending boiling your drinking water just to be safe.
It's a bit of a hassle, but these upgrades are meant to keep things running smoothly in the long run!
