Mumbai has crossed 3,000mm of rain this monsoon, with heavy showers still going strong.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says Colaba and Santacruz saw big spikes in rainfall. According to officials, this is due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.
IMD has put out a red alert for Mumbai as the downpour continues.

Tree falls, house collapses, traffic jams

This much rain has caused real disruptions—think tree falls, house collapses, short circuits, and traffic jams on major roads.
