Mumbai faces orange alert amid record rainfall

Mumbai just saw its heaviest June rainfall since last year—Colaba recorded 142.6mm in 24 hours.
The IMD has put out an orange alert for the city until Friday morning, thanks to a mix of weather systems over the Arabian Sea and Vidarbha making things extra wet across Mumbai and Konkan.

TL;DR

Parts of Raigad, Ratnagiri on orange alert

With BMC reporting 86mm in the island city and Santacruz at 60.5mm, parts of Raigad and Ratnagiri are also on orange alert, while Palghar and Thane get a yellow warning.
All this rain likely means higher chances of waterlogging and urban flooding—so keep an eye out if you're heading out.

Reservoir levels barely budged

Even with all that rain, Mumbai's reservoirs have only gone up by 3% in a day, now at just over 13% capacity.
So while streets might flood quickly, it'll likely take more steady rain for reservoir levels to really bounce back.
