Mumbai prepares for monsoon high tides
Mumbai is in for a challenging monsoon, with 19 high tides expected between June and September 2025.
The BMC says these could mean more coastal flooding, waterlogging in low-lying spots, and risky conditions at popular places like Marine Drive and Juhu Beach.
To help keep everyone safe, barricades and warning signs will be set up at vulnerable areas.
June 24 to July 5: High tide timeline
The first high tide hits on June 24, kicking off five days of higher water levels—peaking on June 26 when waves could reach up to 4.75 meters.
With heavy rain also on the cards (the city's under a Yellow alert), expect possible traffic jams and flooded streets.
The BMC is urging everyone—especially beachgoers and fishermen—to pay attention to official updates and avoid the shore during peak tides.
