Mumbai's water reserves at 99% capacity after recent monsoon
India
Good news for Mumbaikars—recent monsoon showers have nearly filled up all seven of the city's dams.
As of Sunday, BMC says water reserves are at 99.46% capacity (that's over 14 lakh million liters), easily covering Mumbai's daily needs through the coming summer.
Local trains, busses unaffected by rain
Dams like Tulsi, Vihar, and Modak Sagar have hit full capacity; Upper Vaitarna and Bhatsa are almost there too. This is even better than last year around this time.
Despite an 'orange alert' for more rain and some heavy downpours over the weekend, local trains are only seeing minor delays and BEST busses haven't changed routes—so getting around is still pretty smooth.
