Narendra Modi in Bratislava deepens India Slovakia counterterrorism consular ties
India and Slovakia just took their friendship to the next level.
During Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bratislava, the first by an Indian Prime Minister since Slovakia gained independence in 1993, the two countries set up a Joint Working Group on Counterterrorism and agreed to establish a Consular Dialogue mechanism: basically, they're teaming up more closely on security and helping citizens in each other's countries.
Slovakia backs India permanent UNSC seat
Slovakia also threw its support behind India joining the UN Security Council as a permanent member.
In a special moment, PM Modi received Slovakia's highest civilian award, the Order of the White Double Cross (1st Class), which he dedicated to both nations' friendship.
The visit saw fresh deals too, including plans for defense cooperation and creating an AI chair at Technical University of Kosice.
