Good news for road-trippers: the Delhi to Dharamshala drive is about to get way shorter!
Thanks to a major upgrade of NH-503 in Kangra, travel time will drop from up to 11 hours down to just 6.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is handling the expansion, aiming for smoother traffic and safer journeys by September 2026.
NH-503 tunnels will bypass Kangra bazaar
NH-503 connects key spots like Mehatpur, Una, Amb, and Ranital, and it's getting a serious makeover.
New tunnels near Tarsuh village and the Riyund Bridge will help you skip crowded areas like Kangra Bazaar.
This means quicker trips not just to Dharamshala, but also McLeodganj and Palampur: Chandigarh to Palampur could soon be just 3.5 hours!
