Nirmala Sitharaman warns of agentic AI and LLMs misuse
At the Global Fintech Fest 2026, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke about the fast-moving world of AI and flagged some big concerns.
She warned that advanced AI tools like agentic AI systems and large language models could be misused for cyberattacks or even to mess with elections.
The minister also said she had raised with the Reserve Bank of India whether a lighter regulatory approach could address these risks without stifling innovation in the fintech sector.
