'No compromise on sovereignty,' says Rajnath Singh at Chanakya Dialogue

India

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made it clear at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue in Delhi: "When it comes to our sovereignty and the security of our people, we do not compromise."

Quick catch-up:

Singh highlighted India's growing reputation as a steady, responsible partner—especially for Indo-Pacific and Global South countries.
He talked about major defense upgrades, like building better border infrastructure, bringing in new technology for the armed forces, and speeding up how things get done.
He also spotlighted Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance), saying India is working to innovate more at home and rely less on imports.

Why it matters:

Singh called resilience a top priority for national security—basically, being ready to bounce back from challenges stronger than before.
He said India's armed forces are at the heart of this strength.
