Notorious gangster killed in police encounter
Romil Vohra, a gangster linked to the Kala Rana-Noni Rana gang and accused in several murders—including the June 14 killing of liquor baron Shantanu—was shot dead near the Delhi-Haryana border on Tuesday.
The operation left two Delhi Police Special Cell officers injured.
TL;DR
Vohra fired at police while trying to escape
Police tracked Vohra down after a tip-off from Haryana Police.
When officers tried to intercept him, he allegedly fired at them while attempting to escape.
The team fired back, leading to his death in the shootout.
Authorities say this is a major setback for his gang, which has been involved in crimes like extortion.
