Odisha CM Majhi promises support to gang-rape survivor's family

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has promised full support to the family of a medical student from Jaleswar, Balasore, who was gang-raped near her college in West Bengal's Paschim Bardhaman district on October 10, 2025.
Majhi expressed his empathy and said the state would stand by the survivor as she recovers.

Majhi has urged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to ensure swift justice.
Odisha officials are already working with their West Bengal counterparts to provide legal help, and police from both states are coordinating closely.
Three suspects were arrested on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
The survivor's father thanked Majhi for his support.
