Three persons, including 2 bank-employees, held for faking money loot

Three persons, including two employees of a private bank, were arrested for allegedly misappropriating Rs. 3.4L in Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. The three were arrested yesterday after an investigation showed that the two bank employees and their associate had misappropriated the money and made false claims in an FIR, said Superintendent of Police Avinash Kumar. Here are more details.

Fake FIR
Accused lodged a fake FIR to misguide police

Accused were identified as Manager of Manatri branch of Bandhan Bank and Doorstep Officer of the bank, Sitaram Sahu, and their associate Braja Sekhar Pradhan. Sahu had on April 5 lodged an FIR at Barasahi police station alleging that four unidentified persons looted Rs. 3.4L at gunpoint while he along with branch manager was returning from Baripada Branch of the bank on a bike.

Information
Police recovered entire amount of Rs. 3.4L

However, the investigation into the case showed that Sahu, along with the branch manager and Pradhan, had conspired and misappropriated the money, the SP said. The entire sum of Rs. 3.4L was recovered from their possession.
