Operation Sindhu evacuates 160 Indians from Israel

India

With tensions rising between Israel and Iran, India kicked off Operation Sindhu to bring its people home.
In the first phase, 160 Indians made a long road trip from Tel Aviv and Haifa to Jordan, then caught special flights back to New Delhi—thanks to some serious coordination by Indian embassies.

How the operation unfolded

Since Israeli airspace was shut and regular flights weren't an option, India's embassies in Tel Aviv and Amman stepped in.
They set up a 24/7 control room to handle registrations and keep everyone updated. Priority went to medical cases, kids, women, and students.
Even Prime Minister Modi was getting real-time updates as Israeli and Jordanian officials helped ensure safe travel.

More flights planned

This is just round one—more flights are planned from Jordan and Egypt soon.
With over 40,000 Indians living in Israel, Operation Sindhu shows how quickly India can step up for its people when things get tough abroad.
