Over 20cr Tirupati laddus made with adulterated ghee, CBI probes scam
Between 2019 and 2024, over 20 crore Tirupati temple laddus were made using fake ghee supplied by Bhole Baba Organic Dairy and its proxy dairies.
Instead of real milk ghee, they used a synthetic mix of palm oil and chemicals, even after being blacklisted.
The CBI is now investigating how these suppliers managed to send around ₹250 crore worth of adulterated ghee for temple offerings.
What the investigation found so far
CBI's probe has uncovered that Bhole Baba and partners relabeled rejected batches to keep supplying the fake ghee.
Key TTD officials have been questioned about how these contracts slipped through.
The dairy's directors have already been arrested for running a "milkless" operation with forged documents.
With a Supreme Court-appointed SIT on the case, further developments are anticipated.
