Over 600 detained in Kashmir to prevent extremist violence
After the tragic Red Fort blast in Delhi on November 10, which took 13 lives, authorities have launched a huge crackdown across Kashmir.
In the past few days, over 600 people have been detained in more than 500 search operations targeting suspected links to banned groups like Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).
Police raided over 30 locations across Sopore, Zaingeer, Rafiabad
The spotlight is on Kulgam and Baramulla districts, where homes tied to banned outfits are being searched.
Dr. Umar Nabi, a main suspect in the blast, is under investigation with DNA samples from his family collected for identification.
In Baramulla district, police raided over 30 locations across Sopore, Zaingeer, and Rafiabad areas and seized documents and devices linked to JeI activities—all part of efforts to prevent extremist violence and keep the region safe.
