What's the story

The three Pakistanis who were arrested in Bengaluru last week stated that they procured fake identifying documents including fake Aadhaar cards for just Rs. 100 each. Upon interrogation, they told police that the fake Aadhaar cards were procured from a middleman in Banashankari in south Bangalore. The said the cards were issued to them in January this year.

Bengaluru Police arrests 3 Pakistani nationals with fake Aadhaar cards

On 24th May, conducting a raid based on a tip-off, the City Crime Branch of Bengaluru Police arrested 3 Pakistani nationals and an Indian from a house in Kumaraswamy Layout. The four were staying illegally in Bangalore for a few months. They were identified as Kirhon Ghulam Ali, Khasif Shamshuddin, and Samira Abdul Rehman, natives of Karachi, and Muhammad Shihab, an Indian from Kerala.

Aadhaar would make getting other IDs easier

The four told police that they were attempting to procure other identification documents like voter IDs and ration cards. However, they decided that getting fake Aadhaar cards first would make getting other IDs much simpler.

What now?

The Indian government has intimated the Pakistan High Commission about the arrest of three of its citizens for living illegally in India. They have also asked the Pakistani government to confirm the residential addresses in Karachi of the three detainees. Meanwhile, one of the detainees is four-months pregnant and is being housed in special cell at the interrogation center in Madiwala.
