PM, ministers pay tribute to cops on Police Commemoration Day

India

On Tuesday, top leaders including PM Modi, ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah paid tribute to police personnel for Police Commemoration Day.
The day remembers 10 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in a 1959 Ladakh ambush.
PM Modi thanked police for their dedication to national safety, while Shah spoke about their role in protecting citizens' rights.

Singh, Shah on left-wing extremism

Rajnath Singh highlighted the need to modernize the police with better tech and resources, stressing how crucial they are against threats like terrorism and organized crime.
He also pointed to the National Police Memorial—set up in 2018—as a lasting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Singh expressed hope that left-wing extremism could be resolved by March next year, while Amit Shah has declared that the Naxal menace will end by March 2026.
