PM Modi hosts Xi Jinping in Delhi amid Arunachal tensions
Prime Minister Modi is set to host Chinese President Xi Jinping in Delhi this Saturday, marking Xi's first visit to Delhi since 2014.
The meeting comes as both countries still face tense moments along the border in Arunachal Pradesh, after the disengagement announced in October 2024.
July's confrontation in Taksing shows things are far from settled.
India China talks on border trade
Leaders have been trying to keep the conversation going, with recent military meetings and India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval visiting Beijing. Still, the border standoff hasn't eased up much.
On top of that, trade is booming, about $150 billion last year, but India's trade deficit with China has soared to $113 billion.
They'll also talk about possible sharing of transboundary river data after last month's flash flood disaster near the China-Nepal border.
