Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist a saffron flag on the 161-foot-high main spire of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on November 25. The event will be attended by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The date coincides with Vivah Panchami, a festival celebrating Lord Ram and Goddess Sita's divine marriage.

The saffron flag, measuring 22 feet by 11 feet, is made of strong parachute fabric and silk threads. According to PTI, it will be hoisted on a 42-foot pole atop the temple's main spire through a 360-degree rotating mechanism. The triangular flag has sacred symbols, including the Sun, 'Om,' and the Kovidar tree.

LED screens for public viewing
Extensive preparations are underway in Ayodhya for the grand Dhvajarohan ceremony. Senior state officials and members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust are monitoring arrangements on-site. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and Chief Minister's Office (CMO) are also tracking developments in real time. To enable wider public participation, a 200-foot LED screen will be set up at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, with over 30 large screens across Ayodhya for public viewing.
City preparations
Cultural events, beautification drive in full swing
Ayodhya is being decorated with saffron flags, floral decorations, and lighting. The Tourism and Culture Department has planned cultural events from November 21 to 25, including Ram Katha recitals, devotional music, classical dance, and folk performances. The Municipal Corporation is leading a beautification drive by repairing roads and repainting ghats.

In a video message, the temple trust secretary Champat Rai said, "1,600 rooms have been arranged for invited guests attending the flag-hoisting ceremony." Extra accommodation has been arranged at Karsevakpuram, Ramsevakpuram, and Teerth Kshetra Puram. The temple will open its doors at 8:00am and close by 9:00am on November 25. Regular darshan will remain suspended for the general public that day.
