PM Modi's firm response to US VP's warning
Just before the recent India-Pakistan ceasefire, US Vice President JD Vance warned PM Modi about a possible big attack from Pakistan.
According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Modi made it clear that any such move would get an even stronger response from India.
This all happened during talks with US President Donald Trump about Operation Sindoor.
TL;DR
Modi-Trump call didn't include talk of trade deal or mediation
India's strikes on May 9-10 seriously damaged Pakistan's military sites, forcing Pakistan to ask for a pause in fighting.
Misri also clarified that Modi's 35-minute call with Trump didn't include any talk of a trade deal or US mediation—despite Trump later saying he "got them to stop."
So, while the US was in the loop, it wasn't actually brokering peace.
