PMML to legally pursue Sonia Gandhi for Nehru papers
The Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) Society is taking legal steps to get back Jawaharlal Nehru's private papers from Congress MP Sonia Gandhi.
These include some pretty iconic letters—like ones Nehru wrote to Albert Einstein and Jayaprakash Narayan.
The papers were originally donated by the Gandhi family, but were taken away when the UPA was in power.
PM Modi chaired the meeting where this decision was made.
PMML sees these papers as a 'national treasure'
PMML says once something's donated, it belongs to the museum—and they want these documents returned for good.
They'd already asked Gandhi's office earlier this year but never heard back.
The society sees these papers as a "national treasure" that should be preserved and shared with historians, so Nehru's legacy stays accessible for everyone.
