Punjab Police busts Pakistan-backed gangster-terror module in Ludhiana
Punjab Police just busted a major gangster-terrorist module in Ludhiana, reportedly backed by handlers in Pakistan.
On Thursday evening, officers intercepted two suspects from Rajasthan, Deepak (aka Deepu) and Ram Lal, near the Ladhowal Toll barrier.
The suspects opened fire and were critically injured when police fired back.
According to investigators, they had been sent by their ISI handler to throw hand grenades at government buildings and sensitive spots in Punjab to stir up trouble.
What police found—and who else is involved
Police seized two Chinese-made grenades, five pistols, and over 40 live rounds from the scene. This group has ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and was using virtual numbers from Pakistan for coordination.
Earlier arrests include Shamsher Singh (Ferozepur), Ajay (Haryana), and Harsh Kumar Ojha (Bihar)—all allegedly involved in moving grenades around; Ojha is known as a grenade expert with a history of extortion cases.
Ajay is reportedly connected to Pawan, who is the brother of Bishnoi gang member Harpal Singh alias Harry (accused of firing at Salman Khan's Mumbai house).
An FIR has been filed under the Explosives Act and Arms Act as police dig deeper into this cross-border network.
