Punjab Police seeks custody of deported gangster Anmol Bishnoi

India

Anmol Bishnoi, a well-known gangster with a long list of cases for murder and extortion in Punjab, has just been sent back to India from the US.
He was recently deported to India, and now the Punjab Police want to take him into custody after the NIA wraps up their questioning.
Officials say they're hoping this helps them crack down on powerful criminal networks in the state.

Bishnoi's gang ties and Moosewala case

Bishnoi is a major player in his brother Lawrence's global crime syndicate, which has over 800 alleged members and deals in everything from drug trafficking to contract killings.
He's also named as a key accused in the high-profile Sidhu Moosewala murder case.
Even with Anmol back in India, police say dismantling these syndicates won't be easy since they run operations through legit-looking businesses like real estate and sports clubs.
