A farmer in Rajasthan's Nagaur district, Mallaram Bawari, made headlines by planting ₹500 notes in his field after his crop insurance claim was denied.
He shared a video online, explaining that heavy rains wiped out most of his cotton crop—leaving him with just ₹4,000 worth of produce.

Why this matters

Bawari had invested ₹1 lakh (mostly from a bank loan) into his cotton farm and insured the crops, but despite filing a complaint about the rain damage, no officials showed up to check the loss.
