Rajasthan reaches scorching 49.4°C; relief expected soon
Rajasthan just saw some of its hottest days ever—Sriganganagar hit a staggering 49.4°C on Friday, the highest June temperature there since 1934. Churu and Jaipur weren't far behind, both sweltering in the mid-to-high 40s. But hang in there: the India Meteorological Department (IMD) says pre-monsoon rain and storms are expected to start Saturday, finally bringing some much-needed cool-down.
IMD predicts temp drop in several cities
This kind of extreme heat isn't just uncomfortable—it can seriously impact health, especially for outdoor workers and vulnerable groups. The good news? IMD expects temperatures to drop by 2-3°C soon in cities like Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, and Bharatpur. And from June 15 onward, even more widespread storms could knock temps down another few degrees and put an end to this brutal heatwave.
