Rashtra Prerna Sthal opens in Lucknow on Vajpayee's 100th birthday

On Thursday, PM Modi unveiled the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, timed with Atal Bihari Vajpayee's 100th birth anniversary.
Spanning 65 acres and built for ₹230 crore, the site honors Vajpayee's legacy and ideas through a modern memorial complex.

Why it matters

This isn't just another monument—it's designed as a space where students and visitors can actually engage with history.
The complex features giant bronze statues of leaders like Vajpayee, Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and Deendayal Upadhyaya, plus a lotus-shaped museum, amphitheater, meditation hall, yoga center, and more.
With immersive exhibits showcasing Vajpayee's speeches and poetry, the site aims to inspire unity and learning—making it a new hub for education and national pride in UP.
