Rinku Singh Rahi resigns IAS post, cites no meaningful work
Rinku Singh Rahi, a young Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer serving in Uttar Pradesh, has resigned after saying his government job didn't let him do any meaningful work.
Despite getting paid, he felt he had no real chance to help people.
His transfer to the U.P. Revenue Board in July came after a video purportedly showing him doing sit-ups amid a protest by lawyers in Shahjahanpur went viral on social media.
36-hour SDM, MP Aazad criticizes system
Rahi's time as sub-divisional magistrate lasted just 36 hours before he was removed.
He's known for exposing scams and surviving an attack before joining the IAS.
Member of Parliament Chandra Shekhar Aazad called out the system for neglect officers like Rahi who want to fight corruption, raising concerns about how such roles are assigned in government.
