Sabarimala gold case: Ex-TDB president booked over missing gold

India

Kerala's Special Investigation Team has filed a case against former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president A Padmakumar over missing gold from the famous Sabarimala temple.
This move follows a Kerala High Court order to investigate gaps in the gold-plated copper plates used on the temple's Dwarapalaka deities, with all TDB members from 2019 under scrutiny.

Unnikrishnan Potty is also at the center of this probe

Bengaluru-based Unnikrishnan Potty is also at the center of this probe—he funded major gold-cladding work at the temple despite having no steady income.
Investigators found that other businessmen actually financed these projects, and nine Devaswom officials in 2019 handed over valuable items to Potty with procedural lapses.
Now, cases have been registered against Potty and several TDB officials as the investigation continues.
