Senior Tamil Nadu officer suspended amid kidnapping probe
A senior police officer, HM Jayaram, has been suspended in Tamil Nadu after being accused of helping kidnap a 16-year-old boy.
The case started with a family feud over a love marriage and quickly drew the attention of the Madras High Court, which ordered Jayaram's detention and asked MLA Poovai Jagan Moorthy to cooperate with the investigation—without any party supporters involved.

The conflict began when Vanaraja, unhappy about his daughter's marriage, allegedly hired ex-cop Maheshwari for help.
When they couldn't find the groom, people linked to Moorthy reportedly kidnapped the groom's younger brother but let him go after police got involved.
Jayaram's car was used during the incident, and five people have already been arrested as police dig deeper into possible financial deals behind it all.
The court emphasized that Moorthy's cooperation is key for moving forward.
