Shivamogga is set to see a big protest rally this Monday, August 10, as part of a nationwide call by farmers and trade unions.

Protesters demand guaranteed minimum support price
Protesters want a guaranteed minimum support price for farmers and are calling out what they see as anti-farmer and anti-labor policies from both central and state governments.
Basavarajappa said the rally also marks the Quit India Movement anniversary, urging corporations to "quit the country."
Representatives of various progressive groups will assemble at Shivappa Nayaka Circle at 10:30am to highlight these demands.
