Six minors rescued from sexual exploitation in Bihar
Six girls aged 15 to 17 were rescued from three orchestra groups in Saran, Bihar, after being forced into sexual exploitation and abusive performances.
The police acted on a tip-off from human rights organizations, finding the girls—some trafficked from West Bengal, Delhi, and Nepal—in harsh conditions where they faced violence for resisting.
Patna HC orders regulation of such entertainment groups
The rescued girls are now safe and under the care of authorities. Police have registered a case and are searching for the group owners who fled during the raids.
Since May 2024, nearly 200 girls have been saved from trafficking in Saran district alone.
Meanwhile, the Patna High Court has ordered Bihar's government to regulate such entertainment groups to help prevent more cases like this, with further action expected soon.
